May 26th 2013 Louisville Kentucky

This is a Sunday so we went to Church in a super nice area here close to the hotel, it reminded me of Federal Heights area or South Temple, the ward was really small, but super nice and friendly people, we had a nice morning at church, on our way back to the hotel, we stopped at Subway for a Veggie Sandwich, this was the 1st time trying them out and we loved it, we ordered it to go and ate at the room, so yummy, we will defiantly do this again !
After lunch we changed and drove a couple hours south to go through the Mammoth Caves, we got there too late for any reservations for this day, really busy holiday weekend and we didn't know you needed to make reservations, oh well, so we did a self guided tour and saw a bit of the cave, and it was ok, not as cool as Timpanogos but then we couldn't go on the really cool tours, so we can only judge on what we saw, it is the biggest cave in the world and super huge rooms, it was good to see what we saw, but wouldn't need to go again, the best part was all the walking trails outside all around the caves, or rather on top of the caves.
I got a picture below of a small bat that was living in the cave, and a picture of the Green river that runs next to the cave.
On our way back up to the hotel, we drove thought Fort Knox, sooooo cool, crazy amount of security, fun to see it, the main road there is called Bullion Dr. We loved it.
The drive was very pretty and we loved this day, the weather was perfect 81 degrees and sunny, just doesn't get better than that.

Well for this long holiday weekend, Reed and I decided to go south to the Louisville Temple and on to the Mammoth Caves, its good to do as much as we can, incase we need to cut our fun short do to the possibility of needing to go back to SLC or Boise for Reeds work, the CIO sent our an e-mail to all IT that they want everyone to work from the office at least 3 days a week, so there is some back ground.
Anyway we left Jen and Steve's about 8:00 am and got to the Temple for the 11:00 Session, we had to make reservations for this Temple its one of the tiny ones, this session was over full, they had to bring in some extra chairs. It was so nice to be in a Temple again, I miss it and this was a really nice session, after we went to find something to eat, we found aWhole foods, and got some yummy Minestrone Soup, bread and a few other things, just the perfect lunch.
Got our so called 4 star hotel, its not !!! but it will be ok - we unpack and we to fine the old Louisville - found the most wonderful area to walk around and also a Central Park, I have some pictures of some of the beautiful homes, they even have Gas Lamps on some of the streets, so cool !!! We also drove by where they hold the Kentucky Derby, its really big and is in kind of a yucky area, but cool to see, they were having something there it was super busy, there is a few pictures of it also.
