Washington DC June 8th 2013

We go up early and loaded up, for 2 1/2 drive to DC, we tried not to take any freeways, so we saw some beautiful country, its just so green and beautiful.
We got to our hotel about 10:00 am - we are staying at the Weston on M street, not the easiest place to find, but it is a great place to stay, so pretty and the people here are super nice, I just love everything about it.
After we got settled in the room, we left for the day - started with the White House, you can't get very close so I wasn't very impressed, we saw the Lincoln Memorial the War Memorials and a couple Smithsonian Museums, the Natural History and the American History, they are so big, we did a lot today, and now we are pooped and enjoying the Hotel Room.

June 1st 2013 Driving to Massanutten Resort in Virginia

Can't believe this is the 1st day of June already !! We got up and ready to be on the road by 7:00 am, Jen got up and saw us off, nobody else was up.
We had a perfect drive, all through Kentucky and then West Virginia and finally Virginia to the Massanutten resort. The weather was perfect and the scenery was just beautiful, we loved every bit of it, Just can't believe how green and so many trees, we got to the resort about 4:00 and Checked in and got settled, we had stopped at the store on the way up, which was a great idea since the stores are not very close to the resort, we would have to drive about 13 miles to a good size store.
The Resort is pretty new so its nice, we fixed dinner and then took a walk, on the golf course, then later after dark we went back to a spot that we thought might have Fireflies and we actually saw some, not a million of them but some, this was our 1st time seeing them, we just loved it, so magical, we also heard some pretty crazy sounding frogs at this same spot.

May 27th 2013

Today is Memorial Day and we have made a plan to go for a walk through down and then the Slugger factory and Museum, we walked all along the river and on to a bridge that took us right up to Indiana, the bridge wasn't finished on the Indiana side, but really nice - we loved walking it and the town was nice, lots of parks along the river and they were having Abbey road concert - lots of musicians there doing Beetles songs, we ended up at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, we did the tour and really enjoyed it, they have a Lego section that have all these stadiums and pictures made up of Lego's its amazing - the boys will love it when they come, they are planning of coming down here for fathers day weekend.
about 3:00 we heading back to Jen's got there around 5:00 and we went to get Chinese food for everyone.

This was a nice weekend, we did a lot and had great weather.
