Tuesday - January 29, 2013

Went to a early dinner as soon as Reed finished working, we just went next door to the South Point Casino for dinner at the Steak and Shake, so yummy, but I feel so bad eating this food,
but we plan on walking a lot along the strip tonight.
We went and parked at the MGM and went from there to New York, then up the strip to Bellagio, across the street and back, it may not sound too far but it is !!! The waters at Bellagio was my favorite thing of the night, I just loved it.

Monday in Vegas - January 28th 2013

Reed gets to start work at 6 here on Pacific time that means he will be done at 3 so we can have some fun together, today we decided to go check out Lake Las Vegas - years ago we went there and loved it, it was so pretty and green and away from the Strip and all that comes with it.
So we go and all but one golf course is closed and all the shops have shut down, and the hotel and restaurants all all going to close in the next month or so.
There is one home builder that is still building and has had a hard time, but they have started to do pretty well lately, things have started to turn around, but no word on when the rest will be up and running again.
Seems like a good time to buy, most of the home prices are a third of what they were, we would be very tempted if we knew what we wanted and where.
It is just so nice to be here in the sun, its pretty nice just jacket weather, mostly in the 60's - the air is so clean and clear we love it.
Reed was so excited when we saw a Baja Fresh restaurant, that is where we ate dinner tonight, then we went over to the strip and walked thought Caesars, its always fun the see how beautiful it is there and amazing the amount of shops and the prices of everything in them, crazy!!!!
Talked to Gretchen this morning, they are doing well, just trying to move on after the death of Tim's dad during this holiday season, it was just so unexpected, they still have all there girls and parents there in Boise, I'm so jealous !!!

Sunny Sunday in Vegas - January 27th 2013

Slept in and had a lite breakfast before getting ready for church, the building we went to was just down the street not too far, so didn't take us long to get there and looks pretty new, very young ward, lots of babies, so fun to see them, can't wait to see my own !!!
Speakers were great they both spoke on Prayer, I loved it.
Right after church we had an appointment to do a RCI Presentation, they gave us a wonderful lunch buffet in the casino next door "South Point" but wow super high pressure sales people, took us a long time to get out of there, but we succeeded and didn't buy anything - we got the brunch and 100.00 to spend next door.
Talked to both the girls today, my little Brooke has a nasty cough and low fever, but she is still playing so that is good. Steph had all the kids help make dinner tonight, they had so much fun and feel like such big helpers, but the big news is Reese took one step on her own today, she has been standing on her own for a while but won't take a step.

January 26th 2013 Drive to Las Vegas

Reed and I got up - got dressed and out the door by 5:30, Mom got up also, I'm sure she will need a nap later today.
Didn't feel as cold as it has been and the air seemed so clear, we could see the moon and stars.
But as soon as we got to the freeway we were in thick dense FOG, so bad we couldn't see 10 lines in front of us and it stayed that way almost the entire trip until we got to Cedar City, crazy.
We came to a big semi tipped over and less then a mile another one and right after that a truck and trailer that lost his four wheeler off of his trailer, SUPER ICY, so we had to take it easy most of the way.
Ate Brunch at Village Inn in St George, nice time to take a break.
Stopped in Mesquite and looked at Real estate - there is some great areas that I have never seen, very nice and beautiful Golf Courses.
We got into Vegas about noon, and went to Costco for gas and a few things for the week, and to Smith's, tomorrow is Sunday and we wanted to have stuff for meals tomorrow.
The Condo here is called the Grand View Las Vegas, is on the south end of town, where all the new stuff is going up. They put us in a brand new one, we love it and its the perfect size for the two of us, its going to be a fun week !!!
After we got all moved in, I filled the tub and had a nice bath, so relaxing after a stressful and white knuckled day of driving.

Week at Mom and Dad's

The last day in Hawaii, was so much fun, we drove all the way up to the North side of the Island and stopped at a lot of the beaches, we planned to hike but Reeds back is still pretty bad - but not as bad as it has been.
Had a beautiful drive and its perfect weather made the day great the only problem is we have to go home tonight.
We returned in our fun Jeep and flew out of Lahina Airport at 7:00 pm then to Honolulu and out of that airport at 10:00 pm flew all night got into SLC at 7:00 am, I really hate this red eye flight, but it is direct.
So cold and smoggy and yucky, we wondered why we came back, the temp. when we landed was
9 degrees and snow everywhere, the Mercedes was buried in snow and ice.
Spent the week with mom and dad, dad goes to the laundry everyday and Reed went to the office and I spent the days with mom, got a few things done for her and with her.
We got there dogs Oscar and Molly their shots and nails clipped, made corn bags that we can heat up, so nice to have when its so cold out, we made 18 of them - Scott wanted some made and asked if I could do it and I had the time, so Reed and got my sewing machine out of storage and I spent one day making bags, mom helped me fill them - it was a fun project.
Reed and I took mom and dad out to dinner one night at Little America, yummy meal and I think they enjoyed it.
Kathern and I went out one night to Rio Grande, we love it there and she hasen't been there in so long we had a great visit.
Spent Friday doing laundry and packing, took Reed to work so I could have the car to pact and go the Pharmacy, I went to the Pharmacy after dropping Reed off at work and visited with everyone there at 7:00 am Courtney and Matty were there and Melissa and Angie, we had a fun visit, got Reed and Rx and found out Matty has met a girl named Kelly that he likes a lot, I so hope he finds someone to marry and settle down and have kids.
I got the car packed with the stuff at moms and after that picked Reed up from work and went over to the downtown storage to load the rest of our stuff to take. We have a super packed car, can't get anything else in there.

Opaekaa Falls

We went to the Opaekaa Falls today and a nice ride up a canyon, used the 4 wheel drive a bit, we had so much fun. The Falls looked so beautiful, but pretty far away - Reed is still in pretty bad shape so we couldn't hike at all.
I took a nice long walk on the beach without him - I feel so bad that he hasen't been able to do much on this trip.

Waimea Canyon day trip

Reed and I left right after Breakfast for the Waimea Canyon drive, wow what a great and beautiful day - saw crazy beautiful views.
We had a nice lunch up there and took lots of pictures, we didn't hike, Reeds back is still pretty painful, so we took it easy.
Ate a Shaved ice on the beach next to a monk seal, Reed took pictures of him, he was pretty cool.
We got back to the Condo about 3:30, I took a walk along the beach - perfect weather..
Fixed Mizinthra Cheese Pasta for dinner.
Getting kinda sad the Hawaii trip is almost over - need to do a lot the next 2 days to make up for the days we had to lay low with Reeds back.
