The Virginia City Cemetary.
Downtown Virginia City, its the most orginally kept old city I have seen so far in our travels.
Pretty sunset, that we saw after we had a great Mexican feast, at a Mexican Restaurant near their home.
Sharon and I went for a really nice walk around Spooner Lake, the temp was perfect! so fun to spend time with me sister, we don't get to hang out too often.
We went up to the Lake to check it out and get out of the heat, we went to get Cheese Fondue, totally not on our diet, but we did it anyway this one time, came back down the mountain and stopped by Sharons rental and got a call from a friend of theirs, that there is a fire near their home, so we left quick and dropped Bob off on 50 to climb down the hill to the house, in case they wouldn't let anyone up there, we did get up to the house, they had the road closed but Sharon lives in the canyon and has horses, so they let us up.
It was so amazing to see the flames and smoke, when not 15 min. before we drove right past all of this mountain side and saw nothing, anyway Lightening Struck the mountain and it was a blaze.
We had a lot of fun watching the Helicopters and Airplanes fly over, it was pretty scary, but it was a ridge away from them, so we felt pretty safe.
I was up most of the night watching off and on mostly because I was so sick, not sure what was wrong with me but I didn't like it.
The planes has to stop when it got dark, so all they had were the hotshots ground crew, we had lot of Fireman and truck all around us thoughout the night.
They came to the door at 4:00 am Reed was sound asleep I had to wake him up to answer the door, we had to be prepared to evacute, so Reed loaded the car, but we never had to leave.
The fire did come close to us but, didn't ever come over the ridge, we could still see flames late this afternoon, and I could see lots of firemen up on the hill watching
I have really enjoyed the horses here by the cabin, we got to feed them watermelen and man do they LOVE that stuff, they are sweet animals, and great to look at.
