July 13th 2014, Sharon and Bob's

We got into Carson and Sharon and Bob's about 3:00 pm, we all went out for Sushi, was so yummy and its so nice to be here and seeing Sharon and Bob again, its been a couple of years and a lot has changed - Carson is growing up, Bob is still pretty slow, and Sharon is working at Suzie's shop in Virginia City part time, she seems to like doing it and she is good at it, I went to work with her on Monday and had her drop me off at the Cemetary, I walked all though there and then up and down the residential streets, finally to the shop Sharon works at, by then I was over heated and a little ill, so I sat down on a stool and tagged some jewelry for Sharon, we shared a salad for lunch and Reed came up and got me about 4:30.

The Virginia City Cemetary.

Downtown Virginia City, its the most orginally kept old city I have seen so far in our travels.

Pretty sunset, that we saw after we had a great Mexican feast, at a Mexican Restaurant near their home.

Sharon and I went for a really nice walk around Spooner Lake, the temp was perfect! so fun to spend time with me sister, we don't get to hang out too often.

We went up to the Lake to check it out and get out of the heat, we went to get Cheese Fondue, totally not on our diet, but we did it anyway this one time, came back down the mountain and stopped by Sharons rental and got a call from a friend of theirs, that there is a fire near their home, so we left quick and dropped Bob off on 50 to climb down the hill to the house, in case they wouldn't let anyone up there, we did get up to the house, they had the road closed but Sharon lives in the canyon and has horses, so they let us up.

It was so amazing to see the flames and smoke, when not 15 min. before we drove right past all of this mountain side and saw nothing, anyway Lightening Struck the mountain and it was a blaze.

We had a lot of fun watching the Helicopters and Airplanes fly over, it was pretty scary, but it was a ridge away from them, so we felt pretty safe.

I was up most of the night watching off and on mostly because I was so sick, not sure what was wrong with me but I didn't like it.

The planes has to stop when it got dark, so all they had were the hotshots ground crew, we had lot of Fireman and truck all around us thoughout the night.

They came to the door at 4:00 am Reed was sound asleep I had to wake him up to answer the door, we had to be prepared to evacute, so Reed loaded the car, but we never had to leave.

The fire did come close to us but, didn't ever come over the ridge, we could still see flames late this afternoon, and I could see lots of firemen up on the hill watching

This is what is looked like when we went to bed about 10:00 pm

All the Firemen Left the area about 4:00 pm and it started to rain so I think we must be ok, except there is tons of Thunder and Lightening going on.

The Evening of the 17th we celebrated Bob's 60's Birthday, we fixed a BBQ dinner for him some of their friends and Chris and Rindi, got to see them for the 1st time this trip - Andan has lost both of his front teeth, super cute.

I have really enjoyed the horses here by the cabin, we got to feed them watermelen and man do they LOVE that stuff, they are sweet animals, and great to look at.

This is the neighbor's house Ollie.
