We took all back roads as usual on our way too Peter Whitmer Farm, wow what a beautiful drive, I just can't believe how perfect this timing is for our traveling, it is the perfect temperature out, be are so enjoying this trip.
On our way we came upon this sign to see an overlook at some falls, so we took it and oh my - it was such a find, here are some pictures, just so beautiful !!!
It has been raining off and on and the clouds are super low - but as we stood there the clouds begain to lift, just so cool !
These are the stairs, that take you down to the platform for veiwing the falls, I thought they were so pretty
This is the park area, at the top of these stairs, the whole area is beautifull
Next the Peter Whitmer Farm
This is the Chapel and Visitor Center that sits on these beautiful grounds of the Peter Whitmer Farm,
this is where we watch the 1st session of Conference today, we really loved watching it here !
Just had to take this picture to show the magnificent colors that we are enjoying
This is a exact replica of the Peter Whitmer Home and where the Church all began, it also held the 1st 3 conferences of the Church, it is built in the exact spot the orginal home was built, it was really cool to see how it was funished and used, it acually is bigger inside than is looks on the outside.
This is a Cemetery that is just down the street from the Whitmer Farm, its called Burgh Cemetery, we just couldn't believe how sad this little place is, it has more headstones knocked down then up.
After this we drove over to Palmyra, we are staying at the Palmyra Inn, its walking distance to the Temple, Joseph Smith Farm, Log home and the Sacred Grove and really close to Hill Cumorah
Today we got here just in time to Check into the hotel and then go over to the Stake Center to watch the 2nd session of Conference, it got over at 6 pm and getting dark so we just went back the hotel so Reed can watch the Presthood Session of conference in the room tonight.
Pretty fun to watch Conference in the Stake Center here in Palmyra, it sits across the street from the Temple.
